While we had the 24-hour version of the Breilting Avenger Hurricane for all of a week before it sold, we found that the 12-hour version of the watch is much more legible thanks to the standard 12-hour dial. It's a small change, but for everyday wearabililty, it makes a big difference. Plus, if you like the color yellow, you're going to love this watch. It's not the same bright yellow that you find in the 24H version of the Hurricane, instead, it's more of a deeper, school bus-esque yellow.
However, what hasn't changed between the two watches is the usage of Breitling's all-new Breitlight material. Breitling has long been known for big, bulky watches, exemplified by the Super Avenger. While the Hurricane certainly has the 'big' part down in spades with its 50mm size, it is the furthest thing from bulky. Another difference from its 24 hour brother is the lack of yellow in the strap. Instead of the accent color, this strap is all business with black stitching and black material all around. It's as if Breitling knew that a yellow dial with white military style Arabic numerals would attract all the attention this watch would need.
